November 2019 marked a new milestone in the cultural integration of Cuban cigars in Vietnam, with the official opening of the first Habanos store in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

Some cigars are considered among the best in the world, and Habanos or Havana cigars are one of them. All premium Habanos cigars are handcrafted on this key Caribbean island.
To control distribution and protect against counterfeiting, Habanos, S.A. exports exclusively to one company per country, such as in the UK, Germany, and Switzerland. Now, in Vietnam, enthusiasts can also find the Habanos store at 43 Hai Ba Trung, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
The store opened on November 11, 2019, marking a winning collaboration between two global leaders: Diageo and Habanos. The opening ceremony proudly featured the presence of: Habanos, S.A. Co-Chairman Mr. Inocente Nuñez Blanco; Habanos, S.A. Vice President of Commercial Affairs Mr. Leopoldo Cintra Gonzalez; Pacific Cigar Regional Director Mr. Gonzalo Alvarez Elola; Thailand & CLMV Regional Director Mr. Joe P. Thawilvejjakul; Consul General of the Republic of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City: Ms. Indira Lopez Arguelles, along with numerous entrepreneurs and celebrities in Vietnam.
Regarding the decision to open a showroom to display and sell products associated with Cuban culture, Mr. Inocente Nuñez Blanco stated: This is the right time to bring more unique Cuban products and introduce them to Vietnamese consumers.
Vietnam and Cuba not only share a long-standing friendship and cherished memories over the years, but now, we also aim to share the finest experiences of Cuban culture.
Ms. Indira Lopez Arguelles also expressed hope that the opening of this first store will further strengthen trade relations between the two countries.
